About Perso Records
Perso Records was founded in 1998 ; I used this name to sell my crap on MP3.com. At the time you could sell your own pressed CDs and even make easy money out of streaming. I still use this netlabel name to release singles from time to time.
Chronology
Here's a chronologic list of totally "wow I'm speechless" events (to be completed) :
- 1987 : My first sequencer (Amiga 1000). I just can't remember the name of this score editor but it was pretty cool : four tracks, "great" sound, you could print the result if you had a printer - which I didn't own.
- 1989 : My first synth (Roland d-20). I remember I was bored of those ugly sounds very quick after buying it. But the sequencer was ok. I composed my first serie of stupid lovesongs (lovesongs without lyrics, can you believe that ?) using this so-retro synthetiser.
- 1992 : My first sampler (Roland Dj-70). I really had fun with this machine ! Maybe not as powerful as Akai samplers but I find this machine easier to program, a lot more intuitive. I still have this machine in my cellar, I'm growing mushrooms in it.
- 1998 : Persorecords netlabel is on Internet ! I didn't have my own private server at that time, persorecords.com (then persorecords.org) was created around 2000-2001 with no success at all. Ah well...
- 2002 : I had a big break away from music, I mainly focused on fractal artwork. Music didn't care at all.
- 2007 : Back to music production !
